Who?

The division of Mechanical Sciences, the largest in IISc, has 10 engineering and science departments that cover many research domains. Just like previous year, this year also, the research symposium features four themes that cut across multiple departments and aims to bring together faculties, postdocs, students, and project staff of the division to pursue collective initiatives as well as connect with industry and government organizations.

What?

1. The 2-day symposium has a set of thematic sessions cutting across departments. Sessions will feature eminent speakers from across domains.

2. There is a 3-minute presentation contest with cash prizes of up to 20k.

3. A poster competition is also being organized with cash prizes of up to 15k.

4. The event will be attended by companies and potential recruiters.

5. Lunch with invitees from national labs and premier academic institutes across India.

6. Discussion sessions with various stakeholders from industry, academia, and governmental organizations.

When?

1. Submission of entries for poster: 30 April 2024

2. Submission of entries for 3-minute presentation: 01 May 2024

3. Announcement of finalists for 3-minute event: 04 May 2024

4. Symposium dates: 10, 11 May 2024

Eligibility

1. The symposium is open to all IISc students, postdocs and research staff.

2. Submissions are expected to highlight student research work.

3. Independent submissions for the poster session and 3-minute event are allowed.
